2015 finally arrived and to welcome it the best way possible, most of the people living in planet Earth come together to have fun on amazing shows and celebrations done all around the world. From 2014 I remember amazing trips I went to, new friends I made and some rough times that led me to positive and negative thoughts. 2015 has come now and I've got lots of new ideas so this year goes through full of happiness and new experiences. I hope this year I can enjoy everything that life brings up for me even if it is good or bad.
In 2014 I went to amazing places I had never been before. I had Middle School Binationals in March, the trip to Rio Claro in April, Ballet Olga Lucia's Summer Dance Program in Los Angeles in June, Gorgona trip in October and Bucaramanga High School Binationals in November. Both binational games were amazing experiences. In the first binationals, I was in eighth grade and we got 2nd place and in the second binational games we got 1st place. By then I was in the High School team. Rio Claro was also a wonderful adventure full of extreme activities that made it one of the best trips in my life. Ballet Olga Lucia's Summer Dance Program came next. A group of 21 dancers, including me, went to Los Angeles to take dance classes with astonishing choreographers and most important of all, we met Sophia Lucia. Sophia Lucia is an 11-year-old girl that holds the world record for doing 55 consecutive pirouettes. She is one of my greatest idols and I got to meet her, talk to her, and even have a technique class with her. Then Gorgona came. In this trip I got to experience wonderful things such as the joy of watching a whale only 20 meters away! The island was amazing and I got to meet one of the wonderful historic places Colombia has. To finish up, this year was a great year for me and I got a chance to try out wonderful stuff that helped me grow as an athlete and as a person.
For 2015 I hope great things arise and I can enjoy every second of them. I have a trip planned in June to go to Florida, US, with my friends to celebrate our sweet 15. I hope I can go to this trip and have a new adventure full of experiences and risks. I also have some goals that I think will help me become better at many things I do. In volleyball, soccer and dance I want to improve my technique so I can help my teammates in binational games and perform well in the Ballet Olga Lucia Showcase in November 2015. Goals can only be reached with effort, dedication and discipline and that's what I have planned to do in order to complete them. In 2015 I want to enjoy every single day I spend doing what I love the most and being around family. I don't want to regret later that I didn't appreciate the last game I played, the last song I danced along to or the moment a new person joined the family. Not only I want to enjoy my family time but also the adventures and memories I create with my friends because those are moments you never forget. I'm ready for 2015, bring it on!
Below I posted an inspirational speech by a 12th grader in their graduation ceremony and some pictures of my adventures of 2014.
